Tool members Maynard James Keenan and Adam Jones were spotted front row at the CMLL show in Arena Mexico on March 16, 2025, taking in the action and showing love for lucha libre.
Their appearance at Arena Mexico continues a trend of high-profile musicians showing up ringside for CMLL. Just weeks ago, The Stunner reported on both Olivia Rodrigo and St. Vincent attending a Saturday night event, joining the growing list of mainstream artists giving the lucha scene its due.
The card, headlined by Mascara Dorada, Atlantis Jr., and Esfinge vs. Volador Jr., Rocky Romero, and Valiente, was part of the promotion’s regularly scheduled Saturday night show. Maynard posted a video to Instagram last week featuring highlights from the night. In the caption, he wrote:

Maynard and his band Puscifer have a long history with professional wrestling, particularly lucha libre. Not only did they feature wrestlers from Santino Bros. Wrestling Academy on their Money Shot tour, but they also integrated those luchadors into the official music video for "Money Shot," blending theatricality and physicality in a way that paid homage to the spirit of lucha culture. Adam Jones, for his part, is a hardcore wrestling fan who has frequently been spotted at local PWG indie shows in California and sitting front row at numerous WWE events. It’s clear the connection runs deeper than just a casual fandom.
