Before CM Punk and Cody Rhodes take center stage on their respective nights of WrestleMania 41, let’s rewind the clock 12 years to a very different moment in their careers—and a very unexpected duet.

A resurfaced clip making the rounds on social media shows Punk and Rhodes promoting WrestleMania 29 during a radio interview in the New York–New Jersey area, where that year’s event was held. Somewhere along the media blitz, the two Superstars found themselves behind a karaoke mic with none other than Taylor Swift’s “22” queued up.

Rhodes gave a straightforward, full-hearted rendition of the pop anthem. Punk, meanwhile, decided to spice things up a bit. Rather than sing the lyrics, he delivered them as if cutting a promo—dramatic pauses, exaggerated inflections, the whole deal. It’s part hilarious, part strangely compelling, and 100% pure pro wrestling energy.

Hard to believe that a dozen years later, they’d be headlining the biggest weekend on the WWE calendar.

Here's the full original video, which also features WWE Hall of Famers Sgt. Slaughter and Jimmy Hart and others.

A different band will be playing Punk out this weekend, as it's expected Living Colour perform Punk's entrance, "Cult of Personality," live!

Swift has plenty of experience with wrestling personalities, having personally babysat Jeff Jarrett's kids. No, seriously.
