The Reason Mickie James Isn’t Returning for WWE LFG Season 2
WWE's new reality competition series LFG (Legends + Future Greats) is currently airing Sundays on A+E. The show features a competition of four legends recruiting up-and-coming talents to their teams to advance in the hopes of getting a shot at a spot on NXT. The judges for season one includes legends like Undertaker, Bubba Ray Dudley, Booker T and Mickie James. Last week, A+E announced the series will be picked up for a second season, but eagle-eyed fans noticed James would not be returning.
Instead, Undertaker's wife Michelle McCool, another legendary WWE performer, will be brought into the cast. A new report from Fightful Select suggests the move may have been political.
When producers approached Undertaker to return for season two, he said he would agree to do so under the condition that his wife, Michelle McCool be brought into the full-time cast. Producers made the decision to replace James with McCool.
The report noted that the Dead Man at no point requested that James be removed from the show, that was a decision producers made on their own.
Shooting is already underway for a second season. WWE’s Greatest Moments has also been renewed at the network. Earlier this month, McCool was announced as one of the inductees into the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame.
