Shotzi opened up about her departure from WWE in the latest episode of Rulebreakers With Saraya. The tank-driving, tattooed badass, who has since become a staple of the indies, spoke about the disappointment of being let go from WWE after a tumultuous time in her life.

"I had just come back from an ACL tear, so coming back from a huge injury and not being on TV for almost a year, I was kind of not surprised," Shotzi said about her release. "Like, 'Well, we lasted a year without you so we'll just let you go now that your contract is up.' In that aspect I wasn't really surprised, but I don't know. I always thought Hunter really believed in me. It was a little disappointing. I felt like, 'Dang, they gave up on me.'"

She continued, "I was in such a bad space for a few years -- everything I was going through. I was coming back from injury so much stronger, and not just physically but mentally too. I was just ready to kill it coming back and I didn't get the opportunity to. I feel like they left a lot of meat on the bone. I was coming back on fire and ready to give them me, the real me, and I didn't even get the chance to show it."

Saraya went on to ask Shotzi if she'd jump back into WWE if they offered her a new contract.

"Not right now," Shotzi responded, "Just because I'm having so much fun on the indies and I think I need more time to just do me and have fun before I go in there. I just want to make so much noise here doing me to where I would go back and be undeniable. The couldn't throw me into catering, they have to use me. I want them to be forced to utilize me."

10 Most Emotional Returns After Career-Threatening Injuries

Mick Foley famously said that wrestling isn't about how many great matches you have... it's how many classic moments you can create. Few moments in pro wrestling can compare to a return after injury, especially when that injury threatens to end a top talent's career far too early.

Just think about the moment Edge returned to WWE at the 2020 Royal Rumble. His career had been over for nine years, he'd suffered a serious neck injury that require triple fusion surgery... it was an absolute impossibility for Edge to return, right?

"Once the music hit, and that reaction... I mean, I truly feel like I could have beat King Kong's ass," Edge told ESPN about his 2020 surprise return. "It was all surreal, kind of like a dream sequence, but everything's so focused and hyper-focused that I can't really explain it. But I think when you look at the video of me walking out, I think you see it in my eyes."

Iconic moments like these only come once in a while, but they're unforgettable every time! Check out these incredibly emotional moments when wrestlers returned after suffering career-threatening injuries.
