R-Truth Announces He’s Released from WWE
Ron Killings, widely known to WWE fans as R-Truth, announced on Twitter that he is departing from WWE. The veteran performer shared a heartfelt message with his followers:
"Im sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride, Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you"
Multiple outlets have since confirmed that Killings' post is not a joke. It has been clarified that WWE made the decision not to renew Truth's contract, allowing it to expire, rather than a traditional release.
R-Truth has had a long and engaging career with WWE. He initially debuted with the company from 1999 to 2001, before moving on to make a significant impact in TNA. He made his much-anticipated return to WWE in 2008, embarking on what would become a beloved second run. Throughout his tenure, Truth was consistently a fan favorite and well-regarded backstage, known for his ability to bring smiles to faces with his unique blend of comedy and athleticism. Most recently, he was featured in a prominent match against John Cena as part of Saturday Night's Main Event on NBC.
Following the announcement, several fellow wrestlers took to Twitter to express their appreciation for R-Truth:
Road Dogg posted: "I am heartbroken. It’s the nature of the beast; the part of business that no one likes but the bean counters. I love Ron the Truth Killings and I don’t care who knows it. WHAT A RUN!"
Big E tweeted "No one made me laugh backstage more than Ron. I’ve known this man for 13 years. He treated me like a brother from the very first day. Never saw him in a bad mood. A man who spread kindness and joy every chance he could."
