Fans of All Elite Wrestling star Nyla Rose can now see her in a completely different light. The groundbreaking Canadian sitcom she co-starred in, The Switch, has been released globally and for free on YouTube. In a move unprecedented for a scripted television series, the show has been made available under a Creative Commons license.

About The Switch

Before she was "The Native Beast," Nyla Rose had a role on the 2016 series, which was the first-ever sitcom created by a trans person and starring a trans lead. The comedy follows the life of a trans woman navigating work, friendship, and love after moving to a new city.

What a Creative Commons Release Means

This unique release model means anyone can watch, share, and even reuse or remix clips from the show legally. The goal is to make its story of trans life and community as accessible as possible on a global scale.

Who is Nyla Rose?

Inside the squared circle, Rose has been a trailblazer for AEW since its inception. She holds the distinction of being the first openly transgender wrestler signed to a major American professional wrestling promotion. Her powerful in-ring style led her to become the second AEW Women's World Champion in history after defeating Riho in February 2020. Rose also won the 2021 AEW Women's World Championship Eliminator Tournament, cementing her status as a top-tier competitor.

This release of The Switch offers a fantastic opportunity for wrestling fans to see another dimension of Nyla Rose's career as a performer and advocate.

10 Wrestlers Who Landed Roles in Superhero Movies

Who on earth didn't mark out when Macho Man Randy Savage suddenly appeared as the badass 'Bonesaw' in Spiderman? "Bonesaw is ready!!!"

Superhero movies were practically built for wrestling's most legendary performers. It's true that Hulk Hogan was unable to translate his explosive in-ring success into box office gold, but performers like Jesse Ventura and Rowdy Roddy Piper did prove that wrestlers could carry major roles in action films like Predator and They Live!

At the turn of the millennium, as the Marvel and DC Universes birthed some of the most profitable film franchises of all time, wrestlers like Dave Bautista and The Rock would nab starring roles as some of cinema's most powerful heroes. In turn, long forgotten pro wrestlers would experience career rejuvenations thanks to their god-given size and ability to connect with an audience.

Whether it be 'Drax' in the multi-billion dollar franchise Guardians of the Galaxy or 'Claw' in a Hong Kong superhero sequel you've probably never heard of, we're still popping whenever a WWE favorite makes an appearance on the silver screen.
