Netflix Replaces “Holy Sh*t” Chant with “This Is Awesome” In WrestleMania 40 Replay; Fans Upset
Netflix viewers watching the replay of WrestleMania 40 may have noticed something a little off during one of the more intense moments of the show.
During the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Six-Pack Ladder Match, the crowd broke into a loud “Holy sh*t” chant—a common response to a big spot in a chaotic match like this. However, in the version currently streaming on Netflix, that chant has been replaced with a clearly piped-in “This is awesome” chant.
According to Fightful Select, the edit was made to cover up the explicit language from the live crowd, not to artificially enhance the match. Netflix reportedly made the change for content guidelines, swapping in a safer chant rather than muting or bleeping the moment entirely.
Clips of the edit began circulating on social media, prompting some fans to voice their frustration over the artificial audio. While post-production cleanup is nothing new for WWE programming, the decision to replace one chant with another—especially one that didn’t happen organically at that moment—has sparked some backlash online.

As of now, the chant swap appears to be isolated to that single moment during the ladder match. There’s no indication that similar edits were made elsewhere in the WrestleMania 40 replay.
