MJF has taken off the Burberry scarf to promote his role in Happy Gilmore 2. The former AEW champion just made a rare out-of-character appearance on New York Living to talk about the highly anticipated Adam Sandler sequel.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman landed a pretty major role in the long-awaited sequel — playing one of Happy Gilmore’s four sons. Friedman wore his proverbial promoter’s hat on New York Living, putting the movie over like only a pro wrestler could.

“This is gonna be a huge hit, it’s gonna be the number one comedy in the world because it’s incredible and it’s funny and [my cast mates] are so great and I’m so great… because I’m the best,” MJF said.” I can’t wait for the laughter to be shared with the whole world.”

The AEW pillar also spoke about his love of the original Happy Gilmore film. “This will seem like a lie, but [Happy Gilmore] is probably my favorite comedy of all time,” Friedman raved. “I had watched it multiple times growing up as a kid with my dad.”

The NYL host quipped, “Good dad,” which MJF countered with, “He’s okay. I’m the only person that’s good-looking in my family.”

Previously, Sandler and co-star Julie Bowen (who plays Mrs. Gilmore) praised MJF's performance in the movie. Bowen was impressed with MJF's dedication saying "He had a match and came back, and I was like, 'I don't know if this is your best idea.'" Sandler later quipped "that kid is jacked and he's a stud. I'm happy to say he's my fake son forever."

New York Living finally brought out a putt-putt green for the Gilmore boys to play with, and of course MJF couldn’t help but do the famous bit from the original Happy Gilmore opening montage. You know the bit...

Happy Gilmore 2 premieres July 25 on Netflix.

5 Greatest Feuds in AEW History

"It was so unique and so personal," Swerve Strickland said about his blood feud with Hangman Adam Page. "It got so personal because it wasn't just two wrestlers, it's two human beings, and crossing the line of men. How far you're willing to go to push those buttons of someone that you truly hate? Why are you hating them? What are you going to do about it?"

"It's that hatred that actually brings out the best in the product of what AEW is, in my opinion. People get uncomfortable because we pushed the line so far."

Throughout its short lifespan, AEW has created some of the most iconic and vicious feuds in pro wrestling history. A brand that isn't afraid to turn the violence up to sickening heights, AEW has allowed its rivalries to escalate to Tarantino levels, solidifying stars like MJF and Toni Storm in the process.

Some of these rivalries were simply to prove who exactly was the best in the world inside the ring, while others devolved into deeply personal wars based on hatred and the thirst for revenge. Regardless of intention, these are the five greatest feuds in AEW history.

10 Wrestlers Who Landed Roles in Superhero Movies

Who on earth didn't mark out when Macho Man Randy Savage suddenly appeared as the badass 'Bonesaw' in Spiderman? "Bonesaw is ready!!!"

Superhero movies were practically built for wrestling's most legendary performers. It's true that Hulk Hogan was unable to translate his explosive in-ring success into box office gold, but performers like Jesse Ventura and Rowdy Roddy Piper did prove that wrestlers could carry major roles in action films like Predator and They Live!

At the turn of the millennium, as the Marvel and DC Universes birthed some of the most profitable film franchises of all time, wrestlers like Dave Bautista and The Rock would nab starring roles as some of cinema's most powerful heroes. In turn, long forgotten pro wrestlers would experience career rejuvenations thanks to their god-given size and ability to connect with an audience.

Whether it be 'Drax' in the multi-billion dollar franchise Guardians of the Galaxy or 'Claw' in a Hong Kong superhero sequel you've probably never heard of, we're still popping whenever a WWE favorite makes an appearance on the silver screen.

Check out these 10 wrestlers who landed roles in superhero movies in the gallery below.
