Mick Foley Hospitalized After Car Accident, Expected To Fully Recover
Hardcore legend Mick Foley was hospitalized on Tuesday (April 1st) after a car accident left him with a minor concussion, according to a post Foley shared on social media. The WWE Hall of Famer said he was on his way to a signing event in West Virginia when the incident occurred.
Foley wrote on his Facebook, "I am so sorry that I will not be in West Virginia today. I was involved in a car accident and will be spending the day in the hospital. I am being checked out for what is likely a minor concussion and will be kept overnight for observation. Thank you for understanding."
In an update on Wednesday, April 2nd, Foley posted to his Facebook "It’s been a little over 24 hours since I climbed out of this car, and I’m feeling very fortunate and very grateful. I do feel like I’ve been run over by a truck, but the idea that someone would be in an accident like this and walk away with only soft tissue injury makes me feel like someone was looking out for me! Thank you to all of you who sent well wishes. I’m back on the road tomorrow and will not miss a single date!"
He also shared a video update:
This unfortunate news comes just one week after Foley was the subject of the season premiere of Dark Side of the Ring, a brutally honest episode that explored the toll his wrestling style has taken on his body and mind—especially the long-term effects of his concussions. The timing makes this latest injury hit even harder.
Foley’s legacy is built on pushing his body to the limit for the sake of storytelling. Whether it was being thrown off the Hell in a Cell, losing an ear in Germany, or absorbing hundreds of chair shots without flinching, he redefined what it meant to be tough in pro wrestling. But as that Dark Side episode made painfully clear, there’s been a cost.
Get well soon, Mick. You've given so much.
