Kevin Owens Confirms Neck Injury, Out of WrestleMania 41
With WrestleMania 41 just around the corner, the WWE universe is abuzz with speculation following reports of an injury to Kevin Owens. This development casts uncertainty over his highly anticipated match against Randy Orton, leaving fans and insiders pondering the potential ramifications.
Kevin Owens appeared during a segment on WWE Smackdown and last night and said he's been dealing with neck issues for four months and will need to have surgery. As a result, he will be missing WrestleMania.
Owens also recently appeared on My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox and explained how the injury occurred.
“I am telling you—it happened in a regular match,” Owens said. “No hardcore things, nothing. There were two very simple things that I’ve done a million times.”
After getting an MRI in December, Owens said no injuries were spotted, only some wear and tear.
“I felt great,” he said. “But then in January, I had a match and in the match, two things happened that really jarred my neck. That’s when the issues started.”
Getting a follow-up MRI this week, the damage was noticeable and he would not be cleared for Mania.
“Just not getting to wrestle Randy Orton at WrestleMania really sucks,” Owens said. “That’s the part that bugs me the most.” The timeline for return can range from six months to a year but Owens isn't ready to make any promises. PWInsider reported that some friends were worried he would need fusion surgeries.
Our best wishes to Owens for a speedy recovery.
