AEW’s Darby Allin Breaks World Record at 20,958 Feet
Darby Allin, the former AEW TNT Champion, is currently scaling Mount Everest and has already made history along the way. The daredevil wrestler posted a video to Instagram revealing that he just broke the world record for highest elevation kickflip—landing it at a staggering 20,958 feet above sea level.
Allin has been climbing for over a month as part of a grueling expedition that few would dare to attempt, let alone with a skateboard in tow. In classic Darby fashion, he’s turning one of the world’s most dangerous climbs into a personal and physical statement of resilience.
He originally planned to make the climb last year, but suffered a brutal setback in March 2024 after breaking his foot in four places during a match against Jay White. To make matters worse, just weeks later he was hit by a bus while crossing the street, delaying his Everest dream.
Despite the adversity, Allin persevered and is now within reach of completing the expedition. The entire wrestling world has rallied behind him, with fans and peers alike cheering him on from afar. He's expected to return to AEWprogramming this summer once the climb is complete.
With a world record already in the bag and Everest nearly behind him, Allin continues to prove he’s one of the most fearless performers, both in and out of the ring.
