WWE’s Axiom is slowly getting recognition for his high flying, but he sees wrestling on a much deeper level. The Madrid-born WWE super says he sees professional wrestling as something much deeper.

In a recent Spanish-language podcast appearance, Axiom shared his philosophy on wrestling, comparing his approach to that of an artist mastering their craft.

"There are many ‘types’ of wrestlers, so to speak. For me, I’m a big fan of the artistic part of what we do. That is basically telling a story. Everything else – practicing, MMA, going to the gym, and other things, I simply see like an artist taking care of their brushes. Or, you know, it’s a way of taking care of their tool, and that is my body [a tool]. And then tell the story.

It’s fascinating for me, working with a crowd, and thinking okay, in this moment, I will excite them. And shortly after, I will disappoint them. Maybe before that, I will make them laugh a little, so they feel more comfortable and then we’ll give them a last rush, and let them enjoy the match and make them think that anybody can win the match.

When you make that happen with a live crowd, you feel like you’re conducting an orchestra. It’s incredible."

Axiom’s Unique Approach to Wrestling

Axiom’s words showcase a deep understanding of wrestling psychology—something that sets the greats apart from the rest. While many focus on the physicality of wrestling, he emphasizes the emotional connection with the audience, treating matches like a carefully orchestrated performance designed to manipulate emotions and craft a compelling narrative.

It’s no surprise, then, that Axiom is regarded as one of WWE’s most technically gifted and exciting in-ring competitors. His ability to blend athleticism, storytelling, and crowd engagement makes him stand out in today’s WWE landscape.
