Anthony Bowens Debuts New Theme Song by Jane’s Addiction
Anthony Bowens made his return to AEW during the Dynasty Zero Hour pre-show, and while it was great to see "The Five Tool Player" back in action, what really caught people’s attention was his brand new entrance music. Bowens came out to a track by none other than Jane’s Addiction, giving his presentation an extra punch and a distinctive edge.
Speaking at the post-Dynasty media scrum, Bowens called the track “the perfect professional wrestling song.” He explained,
“It was a cool process. I’ve been thinking about it for a very long time. I actually pitched the idea a year and a half, two years ago. I always thought this Jane’s Addiction song was the perfect professional wrestling song. It just needed to be chopped up right and get the correct vibe for it.”
Bowens was clearly excited about how the theme came together, crediting AEW’s in-house music guru Mikey Rukus for helping bring the vision to life.
“I’m super excited about it. I think it’s a banger. Hopefully, people love it as much as I do because I’ve been wanting to make this move for a while,” Bowens added.
It’s a fitting choice for Bowens, who has consistently put effort into not just his matches, but the entire presentation around his character. Between his ring work, promos, and now his entrance music, it’s clear he’s leveling up every piece of his game.
Bowens Wants to Make More History in AEW
Bowens has been vocal about wanting to make even more history in AEW. After already becoming the first openly gay male champion in company history when The Acclaimed won the AEW World Tag Team Championships, Bowens has his eyes set on breaking another barrier.
At the same scrum, Bowens shared his ambition to become the first gay singles champion in AEW.
“I think being the first openly gay male champion in AEW history is a huge accomplishment,” Bowens said. “But the next step for me is singles gold. I want to be the first openly gay world champion, the first openly gay singles champion. That’s my goal. I want to prove to the world that it doesn’t matter your sexuality, race, or background, you can be a champion.”
Bowens has always embraced being a visible and positive figure for LGBTQ+ fans in the wrestling community, and he's made it clear that his focus is on continuing to push boundaries both in and out of the ring.
