Of all the albums in Metallica's extensive catalog, perhaps none is as divisive as 2003's St. Anger. For many long-time fans, the album was a jarring departure with its raw production, lack of guitar solos, and the infamous snare drum sound. However, AEW star and lifelong Metallica enthusiast, Adam Copeland, holds a different view, offering surprising praise for the often-criticized record.

In a recent feature with Metal Hammer, the wrestler formerly known as Edge went through every Metallica studio album and named his favorite track from each one. While his list included many classic fan-favorites like "The Four Horsemen," "Battery," and "One," it was his selection from St. Anger that stood out.

Copeland singled out the opening track, "Frantic," as his top choice from the album. He acknowledged the common complaints surrounding the record but affirmed his own enjoyment of it.

"Along with Load/Reload, these albums might be near the bottom of the list, but I quite enjoy St Anger. I understand about the drum sound and all of those things but I really like Frantic. Killer song."

The decorated champion has long used Metallica's music as a source of inspiration on the road, considering the band a constant in his life. His passion for their entire body of work is evident, even for albums that fans have largely dismissed.

Copeland was recently spotted hanging out with Metallica frontman James Hetfield at a Toronto Maple Leafs game. He infamously came out to Slayer at his final WrestleMania.
